m which will provide account management tailored to the company’s clients’ needs and champion an insight led partnership model. He will report to Nancy Veart, head of Client Partnerships and Sales at Cartology.
Iain Shedden, head of Woolworths at Nestlé, said Wood’s appointment and the creation of the new team will drive improved efficiency between Cartology, Woolworths and Nestlé.
“This will allow us to improve the quality of our brand activations within Woolworths and drive greater strategic alignment across all consumer touchpoints,” Shedden said.
As the company’s senior manager of Research and Insights, Gower will help strengthen Cartology’s insight-led approach to campaign strategy, implementation and evaluation.
He will be reporting to Jodie Koning, Cartology head of Marketing and Insights.
“Everything we do is backed by insights to make meaningful customer connections that enhance their experience and offer brands greater relevance,” said Mike Tyquin, Cartology managing director. “We’re very pleased to see our research and insights capability strengthen with the addition of Matt to the team.”
L Brands announces woman-majority board for standalone Victoria’s Secret
Apparel and beauty retailer L Brands announced the board of directors for its standalone, publicly traded Victoria’s Secret brand, adding that its plan to separate the lingerie business from Bath & Body Works remains on track for August.
L Brands said the new Victoria’s Secret board will have seven members, six of which will be women, part of the lingerie business’ effort to respond to what female customers want out of the brand.
Donna James, managing director at Lardon & Associates LLC, will be the new chair.
James will be joined by Irene Chang Britt, former president, Pepperidge Farm and senior vice president, global baking and snacking, Campbell Soup Company; Sarah Davis, former president, Loblaw Companies Limited; Jacqueline Hernández, former chief marketing officer, Hispanic Enterprises and Content, NBC Universal; Lauren Peters, former chief financial officer, Foot Locker, Inc.; Anne Sheehan, former chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s investor advisory committee; and Martin Waters, chief executive officer, Victoria’s Secret.
Sarah E. Nash, chair of L Brands’ board, said the announcement marked an exciting milestone in the company’s plans to launch Victoria’s Secret as an independent, publicly traded company.

International Group of Department Stores appoints new president
The International Group of Department Stores (IGDS) has appointed André Maeder as the new IGDS President for 2021-2023
Maeder, who has been a member of the IGDS board since 2018, will succeed Simon Susman, honorary president of Woolworths (South Africa). Susman will stay on as a board member.
“As the new IGDS President, I am very honoured, and at the same time I feel responsible to represent and support IGDS and its international members in this challenging social, economic and environmental circumstances, with the objective to strengthen the importance of retailing and department stores for the future,” Maeder said.
Maedar, who has expertise in the international retail market and in premium and luxury brands,.is the CEO of The KaDeWe Group, which he joined in 2014.
He also previously served as chief retail officer and member of the board of Karstadt (which is now known today as the Galeria Kaufhof Karstadt) and CEO of Charles Voegele. He was also with Harrods in London as its chief retail and chief merchandise officer for six years, and Hugo Boss where he served as chief retail officer and member of the company’s management board for five years.
