José Lévy’s playful furniture for Lelièvre Paris is a game of sport

Called Jeux de Salon, José Lévy has created a range of audacious and modular furniture inspired by the personality of the brand.

Jeux de Salon is a completely customisable upholstered furniture collection by French designer José Lévy.

Bold, playful, contemporary and flamboyant—Created for Lelièvre Paris, Jeux de Salon is the first of its kind for the Paris textile brand.

Completely adjustable and designed to offer multiple options, the whole collection, which includes a daybed, an armchair, an ottoman, benches, footstools, rugs, and cushions, can be put together and taken apart to flow with the positions and rhythm of the day.

“Simultaneously casual and elegant, the Jeux de Salon collection offers a mix & match myriad of materials and colours which revisit Lelièvre’s iconic fabrics, such as velvet and bouclé, in strong and confident tones, combined with lacquered wood finishes in red, black, and honey,” says Lelièvre Paris.

Every piece featured within the Jeux de Salon collection has been designed close to the ground, in the style of traditional Japanese furniture, an inspiration Lévy returns to time and time again.

Furniture maker Prostoria celebrates ten years of championing Croatian design: the brand has perfected a minimal aesthetic, a sustainable practice and a one-of-a-kind collaborative approach.

“Jeux de Salon” means “parlor games”

It’s an apt title considering the look and feel of the collection, which is characterised by velvet in ultra-vibrant colours and single-fabric cushions paired with colour block tones.

In addition to furniture pieces, Jeux de Salon also includes rugs featuring lines and patterns running over solid blocks of colour to evoke a geometric world inspired by play and sport.

“The structuring element of the collection is the cushion, the starting point of the game of modularity and red thread of this collection,” says Lelièvre Paris.

Everyone is free to compose their own living room and their own story by appropriating the collection.”

“The series of pieces I have imagined is a tribute to the gorgeous textiles and colours developed by Lelièvre Paris, a revered French institution and a celebrated name on the decorative arts scene for more than a century,” says José Lévy.

“This glorious heritage now includes Jeux de Salon, which deconstructs living habits and behaviours for a playful, graphic and colourful collection.”

Dean Norton’s “table-within-a-table” series was inspired by lockdown: called CONTAINA, the collection evokes the mystery of the vessel and its contents, which is trapped inside.
