Making a Difference Locally, the charity fund set up by wholesaler Nisa, has launched a new initiative to help retailers raise more funds for local good causes in the form of branded clothing banks.

Charity clothes banks are now available for Nisa retailers to order, following a successful trial that began earlier this year.

The clothing banks are available free of charge to retailers, in partnership with Nathan’s Waste Savers, and every clothing donation is either sold, reused or recycled.

The banks are installed, serviced and emptied regularly by Nathan’s free of charge.

Once the containers have been weighed and emptied, funds raised are banked into the store’s MADL account and donated to a local good cause of the store’s choosing.

Nisa partner Dike & Son in Stalbridge, Dorset, was one of the first independent retailers to trial a MADL clothing bank, promoting it with a competition on the store’s Facebook page.
