French shoe brand Nodaleto has chosen Miami as the location of its first US store, which New York studio Rafael de Cárdenas designed with sci-fi-influenced red and chrome interiors. The shop opened in Miami Design District during the city's art week earlier this month, starting a two-year lease in the 1,000-square-metre space (10,764 feet).

To celebrate its popular Le Cagole bag, which references Balenciaga's maximalist It Bags of the past, and launch the line's collection of accessories and shoes, the entire interior of the store has been covered in fur. Balenciaga's Mount Street store was lined in faux fur. Pink faux fur was used across the walls, floors and surfaces.

American fashion label Thom Browne has opened its first retail location in San Francisco , designed by ASA Studio Albanese to feature dramatic marble against white slatted blinds. Parisian studio RDAI has designed a store on Tokyo 's prestigious Omotesando street for fashion house Hermès , which was designed to evoke aspects of Japanese nature and culture. Small window displays are incorporated into the patterned cladding, along with lighting that illuminates the stonework at night.

The design uses local lava stone, tropical plants and a geology-inspired colour palette. Exotic plants line the windows. The flooring is a monochrome terrazzo, created by hand-placing fragments of locally sourced lava stone, while the display hangers and checkout counter are a bronze-toned metal.
