Pierre Yovanovitch opens design gallery in New York City penthouse

Recognisable designs including the iconic Bear Chair fill the 10,000 square feet (930 square metres) of gallery and office space on the penthouse level of 555 West 25th Street. Throughout, exposed ceiling joists and ductwork are paired with dark wood flooring and whitewashed brick, typical of a New York loft space.

ASA Studio Albanese references mid-century offices for Thom Browne store in San Francisco

Like its counterparts around the world, the 1,250-square-foot (116-square-metre) space is outfitted to look like a Mad Men-era workplace. A selection of mid-century furniture pieces was curated for the space. This is achieved by pairing highly decorative marble surfaces with strips of white slatted blinds and tube lighting.

The space was designed in an attempt to create a flexible space that would focus on the products in exhibition, so we went for black on black. Using the modularity of the concrete pavers, we created a flexible space that can continuously change depending on what is being exhibited.
